The Bronze Key, by Cassandra Claire and Holly Black is about a boy named Callum Hunt. Call is a student at a magic school called the Magisterium! At the Magisterium young mages (Wizards) are taught to learn and control their magic.

It’s Calls 3rd year at the Magisterium with his friends Tammara and Aaron. Call is a chaos mage along with Aaron, but there still is a difference! Call is the Enemy of Death! The Enemy of Death was a chaos mage, named Constaintine Madden who was going through tough times. Constaintine killed his own brother by accident and became sad and dreadful, and then he went mad. There was a war against Constaintine and another chaos mage. They both died, but Constaintine’s soul was not dead! It was transferred into a newborn baby named Call…

No one knew that Call was the Enemy except himself, Aaron, and Tammara. But everyone knew that Aaron and Call were chaos mages, so the Magisteruim had a really big party for them since they were the only two chaos mages left in the school. At the party Call got a little note from Ceilia saying, “Meet at the trophy room at 12…” So Call did what Ceilia said and came, but when he came the chandelier came crashing down on him blasting into millions of pieces! And right at that moment Jen was murdered! It was clear that someone was after Call. With the Magisterium on guard and ready to protect the school, Call and his friends strive to find out who the murderer is…

As the year is coming to an end with only a little bit information, Call has to take a test. This years test is that you have to get through a maze of fire, with monsters coming in their way. Call knew that chaos wants to devour, so he used chaos magic to destroy the arena. Using his magic drained him and he slowly got hurt. Call went to the nurse…

While sleeping Call heard a noise and woke up and saw Alex at the head of the bed saying, “Tammara was kidnapped!” Call followed Alex out of the nurse thinking how did Alex know where Tammara is though…?

This is a very heart breaking and fun kind of book! You’ll never stop reading! I recommend this book to people who like non-stop action filled, and gripping books. It will lift your heart in the sky like a when you discover that you won an award you always wanted. I think this series is appropriate for anyone over 10 years old. Adults would love this series too. This series reminds me a lot of “Harry Potter,” so if you enjoyed that, I guarantee you’ll like this!
