“Planet Jupiter” by Jane Kurtz is a book about adventure! If you love adventure then you’ll love this book! The main characters are Jupiter, Edith, and Jupiter’s mom. Jupiter has a brother named Orion. Orion goes to work at a café and mails the family money since they are poor. Originally, it was just Jupiter, Orion, and their mom, until Edith came to live with them. That’s when Orion left, and Jupiter was stuck with a cousin she never knew existed. That’s when they moved into a small house in Portland, OR and began their new life.

Edith came to live with them because her mom was sick. Edith calls her mom “Amy mom” because her name is Amy.  Edith used to have a birth mom until that mom couldn’t take care of her anymore, so “Amy mom” stepped in to help.

What I liked about this book is that it was full of adventure. What I didn’t like about this book was that it kind of didn’t make sense at first, but then as you get farther into the story it starts to make sense.

I would recommend this book for ages 10 and up. “Planet Jupiter” is a good book. I would rate this book a 7 out of 10. Read the book to find about the adventures they have.
