Are you a reading bug? Do you savor every book you read? Well if you do, you will love “The Tiny Hero of Ferny Creek Library,” by Linda Bailey.

Picture this: There is a tiny green bug named Eddie. Eddie lives in the Ferny Creek School. He loves reading, just like his Aunt Min and his grandpa.

They travel to the library often. When his aunt doesn’t come home from the library, Eddie knew he must save her from being squashed by the Squishers, [A.K.A humans].

Luckily, Eddie finds Aunt Min. Aunt Min isn’t doing well, so they must stay in the library for a while.

Ms. Laurel, the librarian, won’t hurt a fly. That might seem like a good situation, but Ms. Laurel goes home, pregnant. A mean woman, named Ms. Grisch, replaces her. Ms. Grisch hates books, kids, and especially bugs.

She wants to save money by closing the library, throwing out the books, and turning it into a testing center. She will use the testing center only on major exams, and she will turn off the heat.

Eddie must save his beloved library, before it turns into a dark, blank, room. He must accomplish this mission without being noticed.

How will he do it? Linda Bailey’s story will make you feel tickled pink and it will warm your heart. This book is perfect for ages 9 and up.

This seems like a good story for adventrous readers. Also, after reading this review, this feels like it is a king 80’s book. Why do they call humans the squishers, and why were they trapped in the library?
