“Tom’s Midnight Garden” by Edith is a very interesting and mysterious novel. This novel is about a boy named Tom Long who is spending the summer with his aunt and uncle. Their landlord Mrs. Bartholomew has a grandfather clock in the apartment.

When the grandfather clock strikes thirteen times, Tom is sent back in time over a hundred years ago. He meets a girl named Hatty who is the only person who can actually see Tom.

Every time Tom goes back, Hatty gets a little older. Now, Tom wants to spend the rest of his life with her. Will he figure out how? Read the book to find out.

I recommend “Tom’s Midnight Garden” to kids and adults that like mystery and time travel. Anyone over 11 years old would love this book. I give this book 5 stars. This book never gets boring. There are surprises on every page.

Lastly, after you read this version make sure to read the original “Tom’s Midnight Garden” by Philippa Pearce.

I think you did a fantastic job on this book review! I like time travel books and this one sounds interesting. I still don’t get why a grandfather clock of all things has time travel abilities, though.
