The Food Pantry is an important activity to me because we package food for people in need. The lady in charge of this activity is Mrs. Millie. Last week my fellow Girl Scouts and I celebrated Mrs. Millie’s 25th anniversary of working at St. Paul’s Church.

We meet at the church every Tuesday and Thursday to help out. Each package is either a small, regular or a large and it could contain canned food, cereal, juice, raisins and other different foods. These packages typically last a week.

When we are at the church we see people come in each time because people book appointments to pick up the food on those days and also on other days of the week.

I’m glad when I see the families come because we see them go of with a bunch of food and it just makes me feel happy.

Sometimes we go out and ask for help from our neighbors for extra supplies such as diapers and toiletries. Mrs. Millie appreciates us helping her and that’s why I’ve been doing this since I was a 2nd year Brownie. Now I am a 1st year Junior which is 4th and 5th grade. I enjoy helping Mrs.Millie because I’m helping other people at the same time.

This is me cutting the delicious Cannoli cake.

I think it is really nice to give people food! If I saw someone walking out with a large bag, I would also feel really good.
